About her

" You will always be remembered
May the winds of heaven blow softly
and whisper in your ear.
How much we love and miss you
And wish that you were here. "

Charu Sharma was born on 2 April 1955 at Military Hospital, Pune, India to Ram Pyara Sharma and Lajvanthi. She was their youngest daughter and sixth child. Being raised in a simple family, she learnt the virtues of hard work, honesty and warmth very early in her life.

She was a very bright student and throughout class 1 to 8 she stood first in her class. After completing her schooling, at the age of 17 she found her true calling as a teacher. She simultaneously pursued her graduation and post graduation in political science from Delhi University.

She got married to Madan Sharma on 22 November 1981 in Delhi. She gave birth to a son, Mridul on 1 August 1984 at St Stephens Hospital, Delhi and a daughter, Medha on 22 June 1986 right in her matrimonial home.

She was very ambitious in her life and always sought the best for her family. Through sheer hard work and without any significant help from anyone, she created a beautiful abode for her family. She was also extremely generous towards her close family and friends.

Unfortunately, all this hard work took a toll on her health over a period of time. She was diagnosed with high blood pressure in her mid-30's and in her late 40's she was diagnosed with diabetes. Constant stress and overwork were the major contributors towards these conditions.

In 2014, she was hospitalized for kidney and lung related ailments and had to be shifted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Though she recovered, but the diabetes had done its damage. In 2016, she was put on a ventilator as she continued to experience breathing issues.

She put up a tough fight. She recovered from the ventilator after being shifted to another hospital. In India, it is vital to have the right professional approach as far as healthcare is concerned.

But in 2018, she started experiencing low hemoglobin due to kidney disease and was on the verge of dialysis. It was then she decided to experiment with alternative medicine. The results were nothing short of a miracle.

She not only managed to evade dialysis but also recovered from the weakness caused by low hemoglobin. She started going out, got in touch with friends and relatives, and walking on her own.

However, in the winter of 2020, she started experiencing sleepless nights, pain in limbs (diabetic neuropathy) and shortness of breath. She was admitted to a nearby hospital and on 1 February 2020 she left for her heavenly abode after a cardiac arrest.

She was greatly accomplished in her life in the areas of education, music and people relationships. She had absolutely no enemies in life. It is said that flowers' smell is pleasant but in her case the whole personality was so fragrant that people would travel far just to meet and interact with her.

She was a beautiful and simple soul with a gentle and loving spirit. She was very kind to everyone who met her. She always opened her heart for others and helped people close to her in the best way of possible.

She will forever be in our memories. We are proud to have been with her and seen her enlighten our lives. We will always fondly miss her and carry her in our hearts.
